If you're considering enrolling your child in martial arts classes, you want to ensure they receive instruction from qualified and dedicated instructors.
At Ko Martial Arts (KOMA), we take pride in our team of certified instructors who provide exceptional taekwondo education. In this article, we will explore what it means to be a certified instructor at KOMA and why it matters for the quality of your child's martial arts experience.
Becoming a certified instructor at KOMA is a demanding process that emphasizes expertise, dedication, and continuous growth. Our instructors must first attain a black belt in Taekwondo, showcasing their mastery of fundamental techniques and principles.
At KOMA, our instructors undergo a comprehensive certification process that includes multiple levels. To lead classes independently, instructors must pass the Level 1 test, demonstrating their readiness and proficiency. As they progress through levels 2 to 6, instructors continue to attain higher levels of expertise, responsibility, and leadership.
In addition to certification, KOMA instructors also engage in regular training sessions. They dedicate multiple hours a day to improving their skills, deepening their knowledge, and staying connected to the art they teach. This commitment to ongoing training ensures that our instructors remain active students of martial arts instruction.
Each KOMA location, in both Overland Park, KS and Olathe, KS, has a dedicated team of instructors who work together to provide comprehensive instruction to each and every student. While your student may not have the same instructor every time, rest assured that all instructors teach using the same approach and similar methods, ensuring consistency in the curriculum and martial arts training.
At KOMA, instructors take their roles extremely seriously. Every instructor is required to memorize and internalize the curriculum, eliminating the need for “cheat sheets” or unnecessary pauses during classes. This commitment ensures that instructors provide seamless instruction, focusing on the students' progress and growth.
We truly value the development of future leaders and as such, offer a "Mentorship" program for younger black belt students who eventually want to become a leader, or potentially, an instructor. Through the Mentorship program, these students learn how to teach under the guidance of experienced instructors, preparing them for potential future roles without pressure.
Choosing KOMA means choosing excellence in martial arts instruction. Through their rigorous certification process, continuous training, and ongoing mentorship, our instructors are dedicated to providing a great martial arts experience that fosters growth, discipline, and personal development in your student.
